I found the company who makes them in case anyone else is interested!
This is why adaptable equipment is important!! Gives more power back to the user to live their life in the best way for them. Unfortunately a lot of times it is cost prohibitive and hard to find- that’s where allies and activists (and #socialworkers #BlackTumblr #BlackTwitter) can help.
my absolute favorite part of tumblr is how much you guys hate symbolism and like to pretend english teachers made up symbolism and authors never intended to write it. symbolism is what saves books from being boring and lifeless. i need you guys to understand how lazy and childish you look when you complain about having to find symbolism in books made for finding symbolism
Lmao Im a writer and fuck writing symbolism. Its all accidental
All I can think of is the episode of King of the Hill where Peggy buys the bookstore, and at the end of the episode, she has a book club with a biker gang that read “A Dinner on Onions”, and they were arguing about the symbolism of the lighthouse.
Guy 1: “God dang it, Ox. You’re confusing realism with symbolism agin.”
This frame cracks me up every time I see it, just look at it!
This series doesn’t hide at all
the fact that Perfuma very much wants to be held by a big, buff girl. And honestly, I think all of us can relate to that.
I love how Ray Holt is portrayed simultaneously as a serious, emotionless captain as well as the most dramatic and petty person on the whole team. I live for his deadpan dramatic-ness and I’ve honestly never seen a character like him before on TV
About a couple weeks ago I applied to some furniture place that said they were in Dallas, and they were looking for an Administrative Assistant. I stupidly applied, got selected to do the next step of the process (which was fill out a couple forms that involved exploring their website), and waited for a response. During that 2 week wait I got hired at HPB, and while it’s a little less pay than what I was getting at the other store, I’m getting an actual full time schedule and an hour lunch.
The furniture place got back to me all “hey we wanna schedule an in-person interview”. I thought ‘well shit I guess it wouldn’t hurt’. But I went to figure out the actual location of the store.
Turns out, they’re in Richardson, which is North Dallas, which would be about a 30-45 minute commute. Okay, maybe I can do it.
Next, I go to the Glassdoor for the company and search the salary for the position I applied for.
Well, that salary is even LOWER then what I’m getting now.
All that said, I didn’t respond to the email. I probably should and say that I’ve been offered a position elsewhere. Eh.
